Why Spay & Neuter?

❤️

Healthier Pets

Spayed and neutered pets live longer. The procedure reduces the risk of certain cancers and eliminates the chance of uterine or testicular disease.

🏠

Fewer Homeless Animals

Millions of cats and dogs end up in shelters every year. Spay and neuter is the single most effective way to reduce overpopulation and prevent euthanasia.

💰

Saves You Money

One surgery now prevents unexpected litters, emergency vet visits, and behavioral problems that cost hundreds or thousands down the road.

Answers for Pet Owners

Is low-cost surgery safe for my pet?
Yes. Our licensed veterinarians perform dozens of surgeries every day using the same professional techniques and anesthesia protocols as full-price clinics. We keep costs low because we're a nonprofit focused on volume, not because we cut corners. Your pet is monitored throughout the entire procedure.
What does the surgery include?
Every spay or neuter surgery includes the procedure itself, general anesthesia, pain medication, and a post-surgery exam before discharge. Your pet goes home the same day with printed aftercare instructions and our full support if you have questions during recovery.
Do I need to prove my income or residency?
No. We serve everyone regardless of income level or where you live. Many of our patients come from across Indiana and even neighboring states. No proof of income, no residency verification, no financial paperwork of any kind.
What if my pet has a complication after surgery?
Complications are rare, but if anything comes up we're here for you. Call us during business hours and our team will guide you through next steps. We provide detailed aftercare instructions at pickup so you know exactly what to watch for and when to contact us.
Do I need to fast my pet before surgery?
Yes. No food after midnight the night before surgery. Water is fine up until drop-off at 8:00am. Puppies and kittens under 4 months can have a small meal the morning of surgery. We'll email you all the prep details when your appointment is confirmed.
How old does my pet need to be?
Cats and dogs should be at least 8 weeks old and weigh at least 2 pounds. There is no upper age limit, though older pets may need a pre-surgical wellness exam. If you're unsure, call us at (812) 349-1349 and we'll help you figure out the best timing.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Fill out our online scheduling form with your pet's info and preferred dates. We'll confirm your appointment by email, usually within 1 to 2 business days. You can also call us at (812) 349-1349 during business hours (Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm).
Do you handle feral or community cats?
Absolutely. Our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program is $60 per cat and includes surgery, rabies vaccination, and ear-tipping for identification. We work with rescue coordinators, colony caretakers, and individuals managing feral cat populations across the state.

Nonprofit Since 2005

A Community Built on Compassion

In 2005, shelters across the United States were euthanizing roughly 5 million cats and dogs every year. That was unacceptable. So we opened a clinic where every family could afford to spay or neuter their pet.

Twenty years and 230,000+ surgeries later, that number has dropped dramatically. We serve residents, rescuers, and shelters across Indiana. We're not done yet.
