Frequently Asked Questions

How old does my pet need to be for surgery?
Cats and dogs may be spayed or neutered as early as 2 months of age, provided they weigh at least 2 pounds. There is no upper age limit, though older pets may require additional health screening.
Do I need to bring any paperwork to my appointment?
You'll receive a consent form via email when your appointment is confirmed. Give it a read and return it before your visit. If you have your pet's vaccination records handy, feel free to bring those along too — but don't worry if you don't.
What vaccinations does my pet need before surgery?
We don't require proof of specific vaccinations to schedule or complete your appointment. If you have your pet's vaccine records, feel free to bring them, but it won't hold anything up if you don't. Just give us a call if you have questions — we're happy to help.
Can I add services when I arrive?
Yes, we can add services at arrival. However, it is important to include the majority of the services you need in your initial appointment request, as this helps us plan and ensure all patients can be seen the same day.
What type of carrier do I need for my cat?
Cats should be in a carrier — hard or soft is fine. Dogs must be on a leash. Just make sure your cat is secure and comfortable for the ride over.
What happens if I'm late to check-in?
We aim for 8:00am check-in so everyone can head home the same day. If you're running a little late, just give us a call — we'll do our very best to work with you and get your pet seen. We want this to be as easy as possible for your family.
What is your cancellation policy?
A deposit is required to hold your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule and fail to call ahead of time, your deposit will NOT be returned. Please call us at (812) 349-1349 as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment.
Do I need to prove I live in Indiana or have a low income?
No proof of residency or financial need is required. Our services are open to everyone — families, rescuers, shelters, and community caregivers. If you can get here, we're here for you.
Will my pet go home the same day?
Yes! All surgical patients go home the same day. We'll call you when your pet is ready for pick-up and provide you with full aftercare instructions to ensure a smooth recovery at home.
